The Beachy Peachy Blonde Collection

What started off as a travel blog has now grown in to so much more! This week we are adding a 4th shop to our stockists and couldn’t be more happy about this!

But who and what is :‘The Beachy Peachy Blonde’?

My name is Maxime and I started a travel blog a couple of years ago while living in New Zealand. When I moved back to Europe I bought a van and travelled through Europe for 6 months. I was taking pictures for clothing brands while I was travelling and got the idea to start my own brand. I wanted to create something fun and different!

We created the signature ‘Bomshell’ t-shirt that was an instant hit, and are now playing around with other ideas and products. The brand has only launched a couple of months ago and it’s crazy how loved it already is. For that I’d like to thank everyone who has been so supportive!

Now everyone’s asking what the next step will be..

Nothing big has been planned just yet, I’ll be taking my time this winter to create a new collection by next summer to focus more on quality, sustainability and taking the brand to a higher professional level.

London trip

Almost forgot to share this one.

Went on a cool little trip to London! One of my friends is a DJ and had a gig there.

This trip was a bit different then usual, not your typical sightseeing trip. We only had one night in London. So what do you do if you only have one night in one of the coolest cities in the world?

Go out and get drunk!

My 'sometimes' healthy and fit lifestyle

Time for another blog post!

Not a lot exciting has been happening lately, just been working lots, saving money and counting down the days for summer to come around!

Looking back at pictures from last summer and damn I’m missing that tan..

I’ve never really been a winter person, I get lazy, eat a lot of food and skip a lot of gym days. But it’s almost March now so I need to get off my lazy ass and get back to the gym!

I know how hard it is to keep yourself motivated to actually work out 4-5days a week and also eat super healthy, it’s a constant struggle for me. But here are a couple of key things that I wanted to share with you that have helped me out with my ‘sometimes’ healthy & fit lifestyle:

  • Balance is key! It’s okay to eat that piece of chocolate, or even a whole chocolate bar. Just don’t do it every day haha..

  • Listen to your body. If you are exhausted don’t overwork yourself, go to sleep early and you will feel way better the next day!

  • Drink a lot of water, like A LOT. Trust me.

  • The hardest thing is to put on your gym clothes and actually make it to the gym. Once you are there it’s easy.

  • Make a playlist with all your favourite songs and have some fun while you are working out!

Here’s a little workout video I made last summer in France. Hope I can look like that again this summer haha..

My vanlife adventure

One of the most common questions I get is ‘What is it like to live and travel in a van?’ of even ‘Why do you live in a van?’.. haha

I’ve always wanted to get a van and travel around the world with it, enjoying the freedom of sleeping where I wanted, whenever I wanted with amazing views of the ocean and the mountains. But in reality, these days, you don’t get that much freedom. Also it might not be that safe to do so.

I’ve been in dodgy situations driving through France in the middle of the night when I made stops at the gas station to go to the toilet or to have a break from driving. It’s like they can smell it from miles away that you are a blonde girl travelling on her own! (it also didn’t help that I had a massive ‘Beachy Peachy Blonde’ sign on the side of my van)

Luckily nothing bad ever happened besides from a couple of tacky e-mails I received from truck drivers that googled my website.

44574572_968458663345722_5106033760604782592_n.jpg

The hardest thing about vanlife for me personally was not having a shower or a toilet. I showered in gross gas stations and peed in a lot of bushes.. and let’s not talk about the pooping part haha!

I’ve lived and travelled through Europe for about 6 months in my van. And I can truly say it’s been the best thing I have ever done. I’ve met the coolest people and been in the most hilarious situations. And also seen so many beautiful places without having to spend 1000’s of $$$ on plane tickets or hotels.

Right now I am at home in Belgium and it’s way too cold for me to be living in the van as winter is coming along. So this winter I will be working my ass off and saving up for summer to go on another van trip though Europe. I can’t wait!

Here’s a little video of how the art work of my van came along:

Bali, baby!

It’s been a while since I’ve last written a blog post, but there is a reason for that.

I’ve been busy travelling and pretty much figuring out my life. So the last thing thats been on my mind is write a blog post, that most likely no one reads anyway.. haha!

44405634_471701026670505_922553434672988160_n.jpg

As we all know I’m a terrible writer, I do enjoy taking some fun pictures and little videos.

So here is a video I've made with some Gopro footage from my trip to Bali.

I’ve only spent 10 days in Bali but absolutely loved it. In a few words I’ll describe how my Bali trip went: cocktails, beach, bintangs, some more bintangs, shopping, bintangs, scooter rides, cocktails, karaoke and last but not least: bali belly.

Furrii

Furrii is a clothing brand from Melbourne, Australia.

I love this brand because they are all about motivating people in things they love and are passionate about.

My passions are travelling, health and fitness, the ocean,.. Just simply living the life that makes me happy and feel free. For others their passions might be completely different and that’s okay, because life would be pretty boring if everyone was the same.

It's all about living the lifestyle that makes you happy. I'm so lucky to be living and travelling around Europe in my van. If this is your dream then why not just do it?

I am wearing the 'Centered' crop top and the one-piece swimsuit! Perfect for the beachy person that I am!

Bahasa Of The Sea

I hate plastic, absolutely hate it! But even I am guilty of buying and using things in plastic. I'm trying to change that though. I've stopped buying plastic bags at the supermarket. I'd rather carry my pile of food to the car and drop stuff on the way than having to buy another plastic bag. But I know this small change isn't enough. There is so much plastic waste in our oceans, it's actually really sad.

I found an amazing company that truly is making a difference. They make recyclable bamboo toothbrushes. Not only that they give 1% of their profit to charity. These are charities that clean up the ocean. I absolutely love what they are doing! Even the packaging box is made from recyclable cardboard! I was lucky enough to get in contact with Ben the founder of Bahasa of the sea and he sent me some of the bamboo toothbrushes to try out! I absolutely love them!

Get your bamboo toothbrushes today, we need to get rid of all the plastic we are surrounded by!

Greenmood

Greenmood design, an upcoming local brand in Hossegor, France is really making a difference. I had the pleasure to meet up with Laura, the owner and designer of the clothing brand Greenmood. Laura is young, energetic and very talented! In a world where everything is made in China, she chooses to use products that are strictly made in Europe. Not only that, the clothing is made of 100% bio cotton.

35531057_1365523646924748_8594128129348337664_n.jpg

I had the opportunity to wear some of the clothing while doing a photoshoot for the brand. And you really feel the difference of quality compared to some fabrics other clothing brands use. Not only does Greenmood Design offer clothing, they also offer beautiful jewellery. Which is all handmade by the talented Laura. Have look at their website and get inspired by this amazing French brand!

San Sebastian

Found an absolute gem right across the border of France. It's a place called San Sebastian! I've never heard of this place before but I absolutely loved it. I went to visit a friend there and we had an epic couple of days. I sat on the back of his Vespa driving through the city, holding on to my surfboard and wearing nothing but a bikini. To be taken to a little beach right in the middle of the busy city. Between the hustle and bustle you could see people come out of the underground carparks barefoot, in their wetsuits and carrying their boards. This must be the best city in the world!

33853778_1349803788496734_148849762454470656_n.jpg

We spent our days surfing and hanging out on the beach. And would hit the town after to enjoy the best tapas that Spain has to offer. Also like how is it possible that a glass of wine is cheaper here then a glass of water??? 4 glasses of wine later, and I was ready to be taken back to the van and wake up the next day doing the same thing all over again, haha.

HOSSEGOR

Yayyy I survived one week of vanlife! So happy with my little set up.

I bought a new surfboard from the Lost South Central shop here in Hossegor.

32478960_1339575882852858_1318165200179822592_n.jpg

To be honest I absolutely love it, everywhere I go I always have my little house on wheels with me. I am still in Hossegor, France and will probably be staying here for the next couple of weeks until I go to Sardinia, Italy the start of June.

Hossegor is a small surf town with lots of nice shops and cafes. My favourite one is WAXED, they have the best coffee in town!

Here's a little vlog on how my first week of vanlife went so far :)

Vanlife part 2

I finally managed to create my vanlife part 2 video. A lot of you have been asking about it and I was surprised with how many positive reactions I have been receiving! Feeling so lucky to be able to share this experience with everyone. Please don't expect a great van conversion video... To be honest I really struggled to put everything together. But I really wanted to do everything myself. And I am so happy about the results! I'm so lucky to have such an amazing family that supports all my wild dreams and ideas, without them all of this wouldn't have been possible!

In the meantime, I drove all the way down to the South of France. I took me about 2 days to get here. I am in a place called Hossegor. It's right above Biarritz and its absolutely beautiful here! It's a small beach town famous for it's surf and laid back lifestyle.

Here's a little video on how I finished converting my van, hope you enjoy :)

My time in Belgium

So I've been back home in Belgium for 3 weeks now. I think a lot of people are thinking is this girl still alive? I've pretty much spent the last couple of weeks hanging out in my pyjama's watching reality tv-shows, drinking tea and eating chocolate. Haha, I've been having the best time. Of course I still went outside to go to the gym, caught up with my family and friends, oh and went shopping a couple of times. But I could fully get used to not having to go to work, like how good is watching Catfish or some Netflix in PJ's all day?!

But here's the big news: I BOUGHT A VAN!

Yes, I'm a terrible driver.

Yes, I am broke and spent all my money on a van.

No, I don't have a plan.

So this is going to be very interesting..

31042826_1324442024366244_1487670292_n.jpg

As you can see in the picture I am also wearing glasses. I know WTF, what a nerd right? Haha, well the truth is I need them. Didn't realise how blind I actually was since I've been wearing them. Everything is just so clear now!

Also have a look at my Youtube video on how I'll be converting my van, it's my first ever video so please be kind :)

Next chapter

I'm currently at the airport ready for my looooooong flight back to Belgium. So excited to see my family and friends! But also sad to be leaving the place I've been calling home for the past 2 years. Will miss it here so much! This month has been hectic. I thought 2018 was going to be my year, never was I so wrong. But then again this year isnt over yet. I just got slammed into a completely different direction, out of nowhere. But in all the chaos I seem to be pretty relaxed and happy about it all. I'm not sure if my mind doesnt realise whats all about to happen, or if I'm just genuinely happy about this massive change.

image3.JPG

One things for sure, everything happens for a reason. And even though there's a door been shut, already have many new ones opened for me. But one thing I will never do again is move to a different country for a guy. Oh, unless he gets me a diamond ring. And a puppy! Haha.

It's been an adventure thats for sure. And the exciting thing is that there are many more to come. Summer is about to start in Europe and I just can't wait to start travelling around again!

My top picks for this summer:

1. Biarritz, France

2. San Sabastian, Spain

3. Nazaré, Portugal

Time for a holiday

It's been a while since I wrote a blog post. My life has been a bit hectic lately, I'm going through some major changes in my life. Work hasn't been that fun anymore, my relationship has ended, and so will summer soon. It's been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, heartbreak and tears, but I've got some exciting plans coming up! I always try to look at the positive side of life and I believe everything happens for a reason. I'm so lucky to have spent almost 2 years in New Zealand and being able to call this place home. Sometimes life can suddenly push you in a different direction and you just have to go with it. There is no happy ending just yet, but I know that there's much more to come for me.

A couple of days ago I picked my mom up from the airport in Auckland. It's time for a holiday! So lucky to press 'pause' on my life just for a couple of weeks to go out and explore the beauty New Zealand has to offer. Only good vibes and smiles!

28832575_1293790330764747_109805591_n.jpg

We drove all the way up to the Bay of Islands and Whangarei, it's absolutely beautiful up there. Make sure you check out the glow worm caves, such a random thing to do but lots of fun. Now we're back in Auckland enjoying some shopping & getting our nails done. Next up is the Coromandel, Raglan, Taupo, Rotorua, Mount Maunganui, Napier and then back to Gisborne.

Once back in Gisborne I'll be packing up and get rid of all my stuff I can't fit in my suitcase. Time for a garage sale!

Wainui girl

I've been looking forward to some nice weather on my days off. Just to be able to wear this cute new dress I got from Runway Scout. They are an Australian brand and sell the cutest outfits!!! On this photo I am wearing the Keiko dress. Sizes are quite tiny so make sure to order a larger size then you would normally, I am wearing size 8. I'm always a bit sceptical about ordering clothes online from a brand I'm not familiar with, but I am in love with this dress. Can't wait to order some more cute dresses.

Wainui-girl

Also have you noticed the quality of my pictures??? I bought a new camera. It cost me a fortune and I felt really bad about spending so much money. But wow, it's so worth it! Still trying to figure out how everything works. I've got the Panasonic Lumix DC-TZ90GN Compact Zoom Digital Camera, I have no idea what that all means though haha. But here's a picture I took of a palm tree at Wainui beach.

Bicycle adventures

I love my bike. It takes me everywhere I need to be. I love going for bike rides to my local coffee shop and my favourite spot at the beach. All I need to do is fill up my basket with all my beach essentials. I always take my round mandala beach towel, my sunnies, sunscreen, some H2O, a bikini, and a copy of the latest Womens Health magazine. Going for a swim in the ocean can do wonders for your body & soul. I'm so grateful to be living so close to such a beautiful beach here in New Zealand.

Now summer will be coming to an end here and we will be having lots of rain and cloudy grey skies, it's time for me to find myself a vehicle so I don't get soaked biking to work! I would love to get myself a van so I can put a mattress in the back and sleep under the stars on a beautiful beach. The only issue will be driving a van as I am not the best driver..

To be continued, hopefully I can get myself the van I have always dreamt about!

Click below to get some bike inspiration from the beautiful Reid bicycles, you will find a picture of me on their Instagram page as well ;)

My workout routine

I usually never skip a gym session. I'm so strict on myself, no matter how tired I am or how busy I am with work I always need my 4 work outs a week. For the first time in months I had a one week break from the gym. And my god it's crazy how quick you can feel out of shape again. My first day back in the gym I was struggling and my muscles were sore for two days.

I never used to be so into health and fitness as I am now, it took me about a year for my body and mind to get completely in to this routine. I'm so happy with where I am now. I feel good in my body, mentally and physically and have so much more energy then I used to. I haven't lost a huge amount of weight, neither have I gained a huge amount of muscle, I'm just healthy now. I hope I can inspire others to start their own health and fitness journey. I know how challenging it is to keep going. To change up my work out routine I have booked a couple of personal training sessions which I start next week. I'm excited to be pushed to my limits and learn new fun exercises!

It's important to eat healthy and have enough sleep to help recover your body. I personally like taking supplements as well to give me that extra push. I'm a big fan of the Women's Best supplements and protein powder.

My top picks:

  1. Fit Whey Protein with vanilla flavour: 1 scoop with water after every work out.
  2. Creatine: 1 scoop with juice or water every morning after a work out.
  3. Pre-Work out Booster: 1 scoop with water before a work out.
  4. Burner caps: 1 cap every afternoon.

You can order this whole pack as the Muscle Bundle online, they deliver anywhere in the world & you get a free shaker included!

Mount Maunganui

Beautiful Mount Maunganui! I absolutely love this place.

I've been so busy with work for the past 6 months so couldn't wait to get a long weekend off and go for a little trip up North.

The Mount is such a fun place, so different compared to Gisborne. There's so much to do, so much to see. They have beautiful shops here and lovely cafe's with the best coffee & healthy food. Lots of young people and a very relaxed & fun vibe.

Mount Maunganui

The first thing you have to do is go for a walk up the mountain. It takes about 30 min to walk up and you have the most amazing view! Once you get back down go for a swim in the ocean and get a smoothie bowl from Soulboul. They are amazing!

soulboul

I had the Bali Bowl which has pink dragonfruit, strawberries, banana, organic maca, vegan vanilla protein and coconut cream in it topped with some yummy gluten free granola!

It's been such a treat to be able to spend some time here, wish we could stay longer. Can't wait to go back to this place!

Healthy girl

Or at least that's what I'm trying to be...

I used to love McDonalds, binge drink and watch tv as a sport. I was never overweight but I always felt tired and bloaty.

I got really into my gym routine for a little over a year now and I have never felt and looked this great before. I bike to work every day which takes me about 20min + 20 min to bike back home. And I work out at the gym 4 times a week for at least 1 hour. I do all this beside my 2 jobs = 55 hours/week,  so no excuses!

There is so much pressure on girls and young women these days with all those hot instagram models that pop on our feed. I felt the pressure too. But I turned that pressure into my motivation. Every time I don't feel like going to the gym or when I'm struggling at the gym I open up instagram and say to myself: 'Maxime, if you want to look like this you better start running and start lifting some heavier weights!'.

I'm not a vegan or on a special diet. I do try to cut back on gluten and dairy, eat lots of fruit & veg. I'm constantly trying to improve myself and am open for any advise from others who have improved their health & fitness. So pop me a message with any tips, it's much appreciated!

I will be writing a review on the supplements & protein powder I have been using that I personally just love that hopefully will be helpful to others.

Also does anyone have any personal experience with collagen protein powder?
